Traits are what make each Nel'oth unique! Traits have rarities that can be categorized as a non trait (common), normal trait (uncommon), legendary trait (rare), and exclusive. Certain traits also have abilities attached to them or are just for aesthetic purposes.

Normal Trait: An attribute that can easily be gotten through mutations. Legendary Trait: A rare mutation or magical alteration not normally seen in Nel'oths. Exclusive Trait: Only available through adoptables, events, and specific custom Nel'oth designers. Offlimit: Traits that are not possible for this species or only allowed on NPCs. |

⬥ Glowing Markings: Brightness can be controlled, uses magical/metabolic energy. Therefor a weak Nel'oth can only produce a weak light. ⬥ Metallic Markings: Shiny, each scale is covered in a thin plate of a certain lustrous metal. |

⬥ Stardust: Extra sparkly skin or certain body parts like paw pads or internal flesh. ⬥ Gills: Up to 6 pairs, can breath under water, only on neck and/or rib cage. ⬥ Spikes: Covers up to around 20% of the body. ⬥ Quills: Thin, flexible, pointy, like porcupine quills. Typically only on the dorsal side. ⬥ Bone Armour: An extra set of bones that grow externally on the body for extra protection. ⬥ Plated Hide: Can be smooth to the point of shiny, durable, can be semi flexible or hard. ⬥ Plant Growth: Covers up to about 50% of the body surface area. ⬥ Fins: For swimming, do not make these obscenely large. ⬥ Clear Keratin: Clear and polished nails, horns, body spikes. ⬥ Fairy Crests: Softer and more flexible, pretty & mostly transparent except for the top of the crest which is a bit more fleshy. ⬥ Cathedral Crests: Crests are hardened into a metal/stone like material, resembles crosses or spires, with a dull or metallic finish. ⬥ Magnificent Crown: 6 neck and/or ear crests. |

This only effects skin/flesh. Bones and organs are not effected by this trait. ⬥ Perfume Pores: Up to 3 pairs of pores, emits a specific smell/pheromone. ⬥ Exoskeleton: Still has a skeleton but bones are more fragile as the exoskeleton will take most of the force. ⬥ Mineral Growth: Any mineral, up to 50% of body surface area. ⬥ Lengthy Feelers: Long and thin, like angler fish, cricket etc. Can affect the "antennae" trait. (ex: mermaid, naga, lamia) ⬥ Chameleon: Skin refracts and bends light around it, making the Nel'oth invisible to the naked eye. ⬥ Glass Fish: some or all of the body is transparent, bones/organs/blood vessels can be seen but may also be semi translucent as well. ⬥ Stonebound: Flesh has turned to stone, still alive! Can be combined with other traits that effect blood. ⬥ Undead: The Nel'oth's body is dead but remains functional due to their magic, they do not typically suffer hunger but may still feel hungry, flesh can be peeling off, no blood or blood is coagulated, do not need to breath. (ex: vampire, zombie, living skeleton, etc.) ⬥ Uncanny Glow: Something that shouldn't glow, can glow. ie: bones, flesh, horns/claws, crystals. Follows the same rules as other glowing traits: brightness can be controlled, cannot change color without additional trait. ⬥ Chemtubes: Tubes are part of the body and transport mysterious liquids, any color/any liquid substance, even lava. Tubes can be any opacity. Liquid cannot be changed to a different one without a redesign. |

Event Exclusive Traits
⬥ Neloth/Selvageist: Nel'oths gain glassy blank eyes and a Selvageist-like mist. It acts like a life meter, a healthy Nel'oth will have lots of mist while ones closer to death will have less, like a flame on a candle. It doesn't leak out like it does with a Selvageist, and when a Nel'oth with this trait dies, the mist dies out with them. There is also a higher chance of the Nel'oth becoming a ghost. Eye color must match mist color.

⬥ Neloth/Solace: The Nel'oth's head becomes a skull. They do not have normal sight but can see just like a Solace does. They still have tongues. There is also a variation where the skull has become crystallized. Guts are a dark color.
